Skandagiri

Well since it's a new venture, I couldn't resist to quickly check pictures of my trips in recent times, and see if I can find anything interesting which can get me started. So, here it is. A one day trek to Skandagiri.

Skandagiri is a mountain, perfect for an early morning or night trek. It is located some 70 KM from Bangalore. Skandagiri is also known as Kalavara Durga. It has a fort on the top of the hill, and not to forget a breathtaking view, of the Nandi Hill Ranges, beautiful sunset and sunrise and a feeling of floating in clouds. After the polluted airs of the Bangalore city, the fresh, moist air is bliss. Trust me you can lay there for hours, marveling the beauty of nature.

Few pointers for people going for fun:

1) A windcheater is a must : It gets really cold at the top, and the wind blows like crazy.

2) It's better to carry your own food and water supplies, all you get at the top is a tiny cup of hot tea, of which every sip feels like heaven out there, that is if you can save it from the blowing wind. Hehe...

3) The route to the top is marked out, and there are multiple ways to reach the top, so no need to panic if you miss your friends, eventually everyone will land to the top of the mountain.

Since, the pictures were never clicked with the intention of documenting, so yes, I don't have the beautiful sunset and sunrise in my collection. But, the places I travel henceforth, I shall make sure I have an image to prove my point.

A new start

I think I was blessed that my father was in such a profession that kept us traveling to new places every 2-3 years. And yes, it was always made sure that we have covered the areas nearby before we moved onto a new place. New schools, new friends, new places to explore. And I loved this life. If I sit down to count, I have been to numerous places, with amazing landmarks, structures, natural beauty, beautiful landscapes, some religious, some cultural, some big cities and some quiet little towns and each left a memory of it's own. Now when I look back, there's so much I could have recorded, captured in images and journals, but guess it's late to do that now. But, once again life has thrown an opportunity for me to continue this travel life, and am determined to record it, and share with everyone this time. So, here's looking for a new start and hoping it goes on.

P.S : Am visiting Rameswaram (Tamil Nadu) next week. So be back with my first travel post soon.
